Customers are requested to update their Ghana Card details, telephone numbers and residential addresses at the branch, as required under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044).
An account with no customer-initiated transaction for a continuous period of twelve (12) months is classified as inactive, and after a further twelve (12) months it is classified as dormant. Balances on accounts that remain dormant for five (5) years are transferred to the Bank of Ghana in accordance with section 143 of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930).
