Establishment & History

Founded for Community Growth

Western Rural Bank Ltd was established to bridge the financial divide by mobilizing local savings and providing structured credit facilities for smallholder agricultural growers, cocoa farmers, fisheries, traders, and small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) across the Western Region.

Licensed and supervised under the regulatory framework of the Bank of Ghana and an active member of the ARB Apex Bank network, the bank has evolved into a structured Public Limited Company (PLC) owned by local shareholders and institutional stakeholders.

From its corporate head office in Sekondi, Western Rural Bank has built an extensive operational footprint through dedicated agencies and mobile banking corridors in Takoradi Market Circle, Shama, and Inchaban/Daboase—delivering seamless core banking, e-zwich, GhanaPay, and international remittance payouts.
